After attending the University of Colorado as a biologist, I knew that I needed to find my true calling. I started attending classes at the Colorado School of Healing Arts for massage therapy. During my last semester of the 650-hour curriculum, I developed a very painful condition thoracic outlet syndrome. My M.D. suggested removing my 1st rib on the right side. During this stressful time a dear friend suggested acupuncture. With some trepidation I went to my first visit. At the end of that session I was pain free! I graduated from CHSA with my massage degree Certified Massage Therapist) and went through a 18-month course on acupressure with the Japanese master who had treated me.
At the end of that training I knew I had just scratched the surface of Traditional Chinese Medicine. While maintaining a busy massage practice, I entered a formal apprenticeship in Japanese Eight Extraordinary Vessel acupuncture. After a 5 years apprenticeship, I decided to pursue a more thorough education. I enrolled in the 3 year 2200 hour immersion program at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. After passing the NCCAOM national exam, Clean Needle Technique Exam I started my practice with a former instructor of mine. Later I also was an instructor at the Colorado School of Traditional Medicine. After 6 years in private practice and many continuing education classes, my family and I moved to Ohio. I now run a thriving practice in Twinsburg Ohio since 2005.
