China Trip 2012

Price: $3,200 per person

Trip package includes:
Round trip flights to/from US/China. All transfers in China. Accomodations at 3/4/5 Star Hotels and one-night train accomodations. Many entertaining shows, sightseeing and entrance fees. Twenty-four meals including special banquets and meals in-flight. Unique kung fu and tai chi cultural experiences, professional english-speaking local guides and drivers. Travel accident insurance in China. Airport/hotel baggage transfer. Two bottles of water daily. A Chinese martial arts outfit.

Package Excludes:
Phone bills, laundry, postage, over-weight/oversize baggage charges, additional travel insurance, gratuities for tour guides and drivers, US passport and Chinese visa fees, additional air fuel charge, if any.

Planned Itinerary:

Depart: June 18, 2012

Day 1: US/Beijing
Depart on your transpacific flight in the air from Cleveland to Beijing — the Capital Cty of the PR China. (Meals in the air.)

Day 2: US/Beijing
Arriving at Beijing International Airport in the afternoon. Clear Chinese immigrations and customs. You will be greeted and privately transferred to your 4-star hotel. Dinner will be on your own tonight.

Day 3: Beijing/Zhengzhou B.L.D.
Morning highlight today is to climb the Juyuguan Great Wall, then a visit to Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City, the residence of 24 Chinese emperors for more than 500 years. After your dinner, transfer to the train station for an overnight soft-sleeping train from Beijing to Zhengzhou.

Day 4: Zhengzhou/Dengfeng B.L.D.
Zhengzhou train station greetings. After breakfast there, you will be transferred directly to Dengfeng city to visit local kung fu schools and exchange kung fu skills with the students and masters. Then a transfer to the 3-start Shaolin Tourism Hotel, the closest hotel to the Shaolin Temple. After lunch and some rest, you will experience kung fu training inside the Shaolin Temple from the active Shaolin Monks for 2 hours. In the evening, enjoy a fascinating show at the open theater at the foot of ShaoShi Mountain.

Day 5: Dengfeng/Luoyang/Zi’an B.L.D.
Early morning visit to the Pagoda Forest, followed with kung fu training with the monks at the Shaolin Temple for two hours. Then back tot the hotel for a rest and lunch. Transfer to the train station for a bullet train to Luoyang then Zi’an. After arriving at Xi’an train station and a transfer to your 4-start hotel, we’ll visit Xi’an’s Ancient City Wall, the best preserved, oldest and largetst ancient city defense system in China. Then you’ll taste the local specialty at a Dumpling Banquet Dinner.

Day 6: Xi’an B.L.D.
Morning excursion to the Terra-Cotta Soldiers’ museum, then lunch at a local Xi’an restaurant for Shaanxi local food before we board the bus that will take you to the Big Goose Pagoda – the symbol of Xi’an, and to the Drum Tower. We’ll attend a Tang Dynasty Show in the evening.

Day 7: Xi’an/Shiyan/Wudang Mountain B.L.D.
We’ll take a train or motorcoach to Shiyan, the city closest to Wudang Mountain. Then we’ll transfer to Wudang Mountain, a famous center of Daoist culture, Wudang kung fu and beautiful natural scenery. We’ll stay at a 3-star hotel – the best on the mountain.

Day 8: Wudang Mountain B.L.D.
We’ll start our visit to the Nanyan Temple (Southern Cliff Palace) and tour the Happy-Go-Lucky valley where you will se many monkeys. Then we’ll visit the Zixiao Temple (Purple Mist Palace) wi the Master of Wudang and have photo opportunities with the Masters. Afterwards, we’ll have 2-hours of Wudang kung fu training with Wudang Daoist Masters.

Day 9: Wudang Mountain/Xiangfan B.L.D.
In the morning we’ll visit, by lifts, the Golden Summit of Wudang Mountain. Then we’ll again have a 2-hour training with the Wudang Masters. After lunch we’ll leave Wudang scenic area and head for Xiangfan, a city 2.5 hours drive from Wudang Mountain. We have dinner there and spend the night at a 4-star hotel.

Day 10: Xiangfan/Beijing B.SL.
We’ll travel by private motorcoach to the Xiangfan airport for the flight to Beijing. In Beijing we’ll have a Peking Duck lunch. Afterwards we’ll to the the Temple of Heaven where we will join local Beijing Tai Chi Masters for some Tai Chi practice together. Then we’ll have some free shopping time at Qianmen Shoping Street for souvenirs. We’ll be staying at a Beijing 5-star hotel for our last night in China.

Day 11: Beijing/US B.
We’ll be leaving China for our flight home to Cleveland.
