Lauren has been a martial artist since she was 11 years old. Her younger brother Sean started first while Lauren watched the class. She decided it looked like something she’d like to do too… The rest is history. At one point, Lauren’s whole family was training with us. Lauren is the only family member to reach Black Belt (so far).
Lauren attends Otterbein University. She returns to the studio to teach and continue her training on breaks from college.
Biographical Information:
- 2005 – Started martial art training with Master Loomis of Your Best Defense Martial Art Center in a Hudson Recreation martial art program at the age of 11.
- 2008 – Attained Junior Division Black Belt at the age of 14.
- 2008 – Started training in T’ai Chi Ch’uan and Yi Ran Dao kung fu from Master Loomis.
- 2009 – Started assistant instructor training soon after reaching JD Black Belt and became Senpai (assistant instructor) in Goshin Jujutsu.
- 2010 – Attained Senior Division Black Belt.
- 2011 – Master Loomis bestowed the title of Sensei (full instructor) of Goshin Jujutsu in June 2011.
