We’re often asked “What martial art should I study?” Read on, and we’ll try to steer you in the right direction. If this short-course in martial arts doesn’t help we suggest you call us at (330) 425-7204. We’re happy to talk to you about our programs. The Silent Mind is a unique studio of martial arts and more. There are three schools of martial arts teaching under the banner of The Silent Mind. They are Your Best Defense Martial Art Center, Three Streams Aikido, and Relson Gracie Cleveland (Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu).
Most martial art studios offer one main program of training with, perhaps, a few basic classes in another martial art style. The Silent Mind conducts five full Black Belt programs in Japanese and Chinese martial arts.
Our Japanese Goshin Jujutsu class is designed for learning practical self-defense. You will experience simulated attacks in every class and learn the jujutsu self-defense techniques that stop the attack.
Our Japanese Aikido class combines classical Aikido and Aiki Jujutsu. This martial art rarely “strikes” an opponent. Instead, the opponent’s momentum is used against them.
Our Chinese Yi Ran Dao kung fu class combines both hard and soft style kung fu. Learn forms, drills, and self-defense applications. This program builds strength and flexibility while learning to move with speed and fluidity of motion.
This class teaches the naturally healthful martial art of Chinese T’ai Chi Ch’uan. This low-impact exercise is outstanding form balance, flexibility, and overall healthful vitality. It is known for doing a superb job of relieving stress.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is real-world self-defense training. The classes are a great workout kids and adults. Gracie BJJ teaches how to dominate and control an opponent on the ground.
Our Sensei Vladimir Soroka is also the only Ohio certified instructor of the Filipino martial art of Guro Felix Valencia’s Lameco Eskrima. Three Streams Aikido is the only certified Lameco Eskrima school in Ohio.
