The Silent Mind Is Home to Some of the Best Martial Arts Instructors in the World
When people decide that they want to begin taking martial art classes in Kung Fu, Jujutsu, Aikido or T’ai Chi, they generally look online to find nearby studios that specialize in martial arts programs. Though this seems to be the most logical course of action, they risk enrolling in a school where classes are taught by junior level black belts with just a few years of training. While their enthusiasm may be high, their knowledge and experience is not. Educated consumers should research who the head instructors are to ensure they are entering a high quality and highly qualified school. Fortunately for those around the Northfield, Ohio and Solon, Ohio areas, there’s The Silent Mind. With three Master-level senior martial arts instructors teaching four full black belt coursesof martial arts in Goshin Jujutsu, Aiki-Jujutsu and Aikido, Yi Ran Dao Kung Fu, and Southern Shaolin Kung Fu, The Silent Mind of Twinsburg, Ohio gives students the opportunity to train and earn their black belts with the very best of the best.
Master Timothy Loomis, 7th Dan Black Belt, owner and operator of The Silent Mind, has been involved with martial arts since the age of 8. Master Loomis rose through the ranks at a normal rate, earning his first black belt at age 12. At the age of 16, Loomis was promoted from junior division 1st Dan to senior division 2nd Dan black belt by Grand Master Frank F. Kovacs—skipping 1st Dan senior division rank in the process. Master Tim was the first person in the history of the system to skip a black belt rank. For the next 27 years, Loomis continued to train and teach with Kovacs. Master Loomis earned his current 7th Dan rank in November of 2009. He also has his brown sash in Southern Shaolin Kung Fu and is still a student of The Silent Mind’s own Master Vince Gentiluomo. With decades of experience in Jujutsu, T’ai Chi and Kung Fu, Sensei Tim created his own system of Kung Fu which he calls Yi Ran Dao, or Naturally Flowing Way. Master Tim teaches children and adult Goshin Jujutsu, T’ai Chi Ch’uan, Yi Ran Dao kung fu, and meditation classes at The Silent Mind.
Master Vladimir Soroka, 8th Dan Black Belt, has been teaching adults and children for more than 30 years. Having started his martial arts journey in 1968 and focusing on Aiki-Jujutsu since 1970, this Master martial arts instructor has earned recognition from some of the most respected organizations in the world. Master Soroka is the only certified instructor in Ohio in the Filipino art of Lameco Escrima. He’s earned the rank of 1st Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, 3rd Dan Black Belt in Minna Jujutsu, certification with the International Combat Jujitsu Union ICMUA and much, much more. Master Soroka has a wealth of knowledge to share with students of The Silent Mind in Twinsburg. This talented martial arts instructor is a member of the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame, making him an excellent teacher for those who are interested in Aiki-Jujutsu, Aikido, and Lameco Escrima.
Si Gung Vincent Gentiluomo, (Si Gung – the masters master) began martial arts in 1968 with Grand Master Frank Kovacs, Minna Jujutsu 10th Dan. Si Gung has had many T’ai Chi and Paqua teachers and masters including Master Nick Gracenin, Mark Pringle, Rick Allen, Chuck Fazio, John Kotsias, Ron Mohr and Master John Custer.
